  		Two HDB flats in the quiet neighbourhoods of Bukit Batok and Choa Chu Kang hid a shocking secret.

They were allegedly being used by tenants to offer sexual services, which were promoted and arranged via online messaging apps.

In an operation that took place on Dec 5, officers from the Jurong Police Division raided the two units simultaneously.


AsiaOne was among the media invited to visit the two scenes, where officers arrested four suspects and found various items such as baby oil, wet wipes as well as a stash of condoms.

The police were alerted to suspicious activity in these units via multiple calls and reports.

  		Month-long enforcement blitz in Singapore
This operation was part of a month-long enforcement blitz across Singapore that was conducted from Nov 16 to Dec 15 by the police and various government agencies such as the Central Narcotics Bureau and Singapore Civil Defence Force.

A total of 1,257 men and 616 women, aged between 15 and 85, are being investigated for various offences, the police stated in a media release on Saturday (Dec 21).

Over 2,600 officers from all seven Police Land Divisions were deployed across more than 1,180 operations. Officers also conducted checks on over 13,200 people, of which 610 were arrested.

This enforcement blitz included an operation held from Nov 25 to Nov 30, which targeted illicit activities at massage establishments, public entertainment outlets, private residences and hotels in Chinatown, Little India, Boat Quay and Bugis.

A total of 54 men and 140 women, aged between 18 and 72, were arrested for various offences and five public entertainment outlets were found to have breached licensing conditions.

During the operation, the police also raided a shophouse in Little India for vice activities and arrested seven men, aged between 23 and 61, under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act 1990.

  		Durex recalls 3 batches of Real Feel condoms in Singapore after condoms fail durability tests

SINGAPORE - Durex has issued a recall for three batches of its Real Feel condoms here, after these condoms failed to pass its shelf-life durability tests.

The recall was initiated last Wednesday (Aug 1), said Durex in a statement on its Singapore website.

"Our internal testing has shown that a limited number of non-latex Real Feel condoms may not meet the international ISO standard throughout their shelf life," said Durex.

"We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you."

The Real Feel condoms made earlier this year, with the batch numbers 1000433144, 1000438055, and 1000422259, are affected. The batch numbers can be found on the bottom of the packs or on the foil wrapping of individual condoms.

Durex said that there was no immediate safety concern for consumers and that those who used condoms from the affected batches have "no reason to be worried".



"These non-latex Real Feel condoms are safe if you used them as instructed... But if you are still concerned, please return all unused non-latex Real Feel products and we will happily give you a full refund for the original pack," said Durex.

No other Durex products sold here are affected.

Customers can mail in condoms from the affected batches to Durex, with their full name, phone number, bank and bank account number. They will then receive the refund within two weeks.

Meanwhile, in the UK and Ireland, some Real Feel and Latex Free condoms were recalled last Monday after concerns that they may burst.

"Our tests have shown that some batches which are currently on the market in the UK and Ireland do not pass the requirements for burst pressure towards the end of the shelf life for the product," said Durex on its UK website.

"Only for the batches of condoms affected by this issue, there could be an increase in the number of condoms that burst during application or use."
