Submitted by a Singaporean commuter and her encounter with a pack of CECAs. This happened when I was in the monorail back to VivoCity. Lady A was stepping on my shoes and she was standing really close to me that her butt / legs are touching my knees. I politely told Lady (B) that her mum was stepping on my shoes. She then scolded me and said “Where? Show me where is she stepping on you?” I was stunned. Am i supposed to act it out again or? 😅 She then proceeded to say “She is a senior citizen. You should give her the seat instead of complaining she’s stepping on your shoes” I then told her i can give up my seat if she wants and that i was just letting her know that her mum (A) was stepping on me. For context, I wasn’t even sitting on the priority seat. Only the sit opposite mine is a priority seat. In the end, I didn’t give up my seat because the crowd disperse and the family went to sit opposite us. Irony is, the father sat on the priority seat instead of Lady A. LOL. I’m really taken by these tourists. Has this “you should let ALL elderlies sit” mentality spread worldwide? I just let the matter slide instead of arguing with them.
